Rosh Hashanah 5784 - September 16 & 17, 2023

Rosh Hashanah, literally the “head of the year” is the Jewish New Year. It is a time of inner renewal and divine atonement. This year 2022, Rosh Hashanah begins at sundown on Sunday, September 25th.

It is customary to have big feasts on both nights of Rosh Hashanah. We eat apples dipped in honey for a sweet New Year. A special prayer book called a Machzor is used in synagogue.

The traditional greeting is L’shanah Tovah! May you have a good year!
