Shiva 7 Day Candle in Glass Holder

In the Jewish tradition, candles help us honor special events throughout life. A special 7 Day candle, called a Shiva Candle, named for the 7 days of mourning following the funeral, is lit in the homes of the close family mourners.

In the third century Rabbi Judah HaNasi instructed that a light should be kept burning in the presence of the mourners (Ketubot 103a)
