Beeswax is a renewable resource. It gives a warm, clean burn.

These beeswax memorial candles are lit in the evening and allowed to burn a full 24 hours. The anniversary, or Yahrzeit, of the person’s passing is marked with the lighting of the Yahrzeit candle every year according to the Jewish calendar. Some people have the custom to light a Yahrzeit candle on both the Jewish and secular date.

They are also lit on the days we recite the memorial service, or Yizkor, in synagogue. These three extra days each year correspond to the three major Jewish holidays: Yom Kippur, Passover, and Sukkot.
